Fix TranslucentTB not working

First checks when the taskbar does not change
Verify TranslucentTB appears in the notification area, select a different visual state, then return to your chosen one. If you installed it recently, sign out or restart Explorer so its taskbar integration can initialize.
Conflicts with ExplorerPatcher and other tools
TranslucentTB supports use with ExplorerPatcher, but both applications can modify parts of taskbar behavior. Temporarily disable third-party taskbar themes, RoundedTB or other utilities to isolate the cause. Re-enable one at a time to find which interaction creates an issue.
Problems after Windows updates
A Windows feature update may alter the taskbar implementation. Check the latest GitHub release notes, confirm the installed version matches your Windows build and test the Normal state. Resist installing random third-party repair scripts from unknown sources.
App starts but resets on reboot
Review the Open at boot option in the tray menu and Windows Startup settings. Portable builds need a stable folder and may require a correctly configured startup shortcut. If the setting is greyed out, consult the official README for Windows policy considerations.
Multiple monitors
Check which monitor is affected, the taskbar positions and whether the problem occurs after sleep, docking, or resolution changes. A project update may fix monitor-specific issues; consult release notes before changing system registry settings.
Practical checklist before changing taskbar settings
Check your Windows build using winver, record the current taskbar appearance, and verify the downloaded release is intended for your system. Change only one taskbar state at a time. After each change, open Start, maximize a window and check text readability against your wallpaper. If something looks wrong, choose Normal and exit the app before attempting further modifications.
On computers managed by an organization, ask your administrator before changing taskbar or Windows startup settings. Downloading software from an unfamiliar mirror is not a substitute for checking the source, authenticity and file contents.
